Supervised Family Visitation
The purpose of supervised visitation is to ensure that parents have an opportunity to maintain contact with their children in a structured environment that is both safe and comfortable for the child. Visitation helps to facilitate bonding between parents and their children and provides opportunities for parents to “practice” parenting their children.
Supervised visits consist of a family support worker sitting in with the family during the visit. The family support worker supervising the contact makes observations during the session. This helps the professionals involved with the family to see where the family needs to make changes. Visitation allows a glimpse into the family dynamic and the opportunity to see what is working and what is not working within the family unit. The family and the professionals assisting them can then make plans for change.
Infinite Possibilities provides trained qualified family support workers to supervise family visits between children and caregivers in a natural setting or in an office setting. Family visits are monitored and interactions between the children and their caregivers are carefully documented.
